Thy Art ov Metal

Welcome to my creative world, where my passion for music and art collide! In addition to creating unique wire-wrapped jewelry, I channel my love for metal music by drawing the incredible musicians and vocalists who inspire me. Music fuels my soul, and these artists hold a special place in my heart. 

This is the drawing that pretty much started it all. I had previously drew a picture of Ben Duerr (featured in a section somewhere below this one) and was pretty confident that I could be on to something pretty awesome. But this Will drawing exceeded my expectations on my abilities.

Mitch, what a heartbreaking story. Mitch was the energetic vocalist of Suicide Silence. Mitch was one of a kind and was taken from us way too soon. He died of a tragic motorcycle accident on November 1, 2012. No one will ever be able to fill the shoes of this man. 

This is the first drawing I did of Mitch.

I have to say, this is my favorite drawing of Mitch. 

As I mentioned above in my first Will Ramos post, this was my first Ben drawing. It was daring with the shadows and contrasts. I had realized that I was capable at this point to do some amazing things. This picture was taken from my favorite SoI video/song From Ruin We Rise. 

 This was also taken from the video From Ruin We Rise. The song is amazing, and the video was simple, dark, and powerful. I feel it complicated the subject matter of the song beautifully. 

What can I say? I love Alex Koehler. Dynamic range and emotionally charged lyrics. The song Cut Me, Crave Me in his band Ameonna was my number one played song on Spotify for 2024, played 102 times. Chelsea Grin was one of my top streamed bands of 2024 and I am a fan of the Alex era. 

Jason is such a fun guy to chat with. My son and I had the pleasure of running into him twice at a show in Chicago. I love his vocals as well. He's no longer in the band Ingested, but I am excited to see what he does in the future. 

Angela is my hero. My most favorite female vocalist. She set the bar for female vocalists in the early 2000's and is undoubtably the early influence of other female vocalists. 

The love I had for this man, and the pain I felt when he passed away in late 2020. One of the best metal guitarists to live! He shredded on his guitar while blasting out metal vocals without missing beat. His stage presence was like no other. RIP Wild Child. 

I am such a fan of Phil. He and his band took a creative turn with their records Kin and The Valley. Phil normally does not use "clean" vocals, but in these albums, he did. They were about the exposure of his tragic childh

Not mentioned above, Phil is the most challenging human I have ever drawn. I criticize myself every time I draw him. These two are the only ones I will feature so far out of many I have attempted. This portrait alone I have attempted 3 times. 

One band you will see a lot on here, or if you know me personally, is Mental Cruelty. They're the nicest guys I have ever met, and an amazing and talented band. Victor is the bass player for Mental Cruelty and is the focus of two of my most favorite drawings. This one and the one below! 

I love him in Lorna Shore the best, but I also love Will in Lorna Shore. Tom is the new front man of Chelsea Grin. He's a super good showman; I love watching him live. Also, not going to lie... have a huge crush on this man.
